2024 Westminster West Community Fair

Mark you calendars for Saturday, September 7th!

This year’s Fair events are outlined in the schedule below, including returning favorites like the ONLINE SILENT AUCTION (bidding starts at noon on Sunday, September 1st, and ends at 5 pm on Sunday, September 8th), a SMALL ITEM SILENT AUCTION the day of the Fair, the CHICKEN BARBECUE (see below for prices and other lunch options), and the GOLDEN ELEPHANT SALE.

The raffle this year is a 50-50 CASH RAFFLE, with the winner and the church splitting the proceeds of ticket sales: https://go.eventgroovefundraising.com/2024-west-west-fair-raffle/Campaign/Details.

Last year’s ONLINE SILENT AUCTION online provided a lot of fun as well as some last-minute cliffhangers! With 32auctions.com, you can see your bid posted immediately; sign up to be notified if (or when) you are outbid; and enter a “proxy bid.” Bidding begins at noon on Sunday, September 1st and will continue right through the Fair weekend until 5 pm on Sunday, September 8th. The high bid in hand for each item at 5 pm on the 8th will win. Winners will be notified via email within 48 hours and arrangements will be made to connect you with your treasure.

Auction items include a landscaping consult with Cyndy Fine, cloth items by Laura Taylor, stained glass from Maple Leaf Designs, a ceramic tile from Peggy O’Toole and John Ewald, passes to shows at NextStage, useful tools, and jewelry new and old—as well as store and restaurant gift certificates! And perhaps of particular interest, a 2011 Hemlock Canoe Works solo feather-weight canoe, a 10½-foot long Kevlar composite, 15 pound (!) Nessmuk model, with a green body, ash trim, and a walnut deck.

Don’t miss the LOCAL ARTIST’S EXHIBIT, curated by Julia Jensen, upstairs in the sanctuary!
and while you’re there, take a look at the small items up for silent auction.

The Cabin Fever Dinner and the West West Community Fair are our two big fundraisers for the year. You get to have fun, eat good food, and help support the life and the work of the congregation–all at the same time.

You have three ways to help the Fair and the church without leaving the comfort of your home:

And lest we forget–you can still get copies of our church cookbook, Beyond Soup Night: Recipes from West West for only $25. It’s the congregation’s answer to all the requests for recipes from Soup Nights over the years–most of the soup recipes are there, along with a lot of others. You can order a copy along with your dinner–or add a copy to your winning Silent Auction bid and we’ll get it to you along with your purchase.
